On my blog I have done many posts of product reviews so I thought I'll write a few tricks and tips I've learnt whilst using makeup for years and years!
1. Before any dramatic eye look always apply a transitional colour first into the crease, this allows you to have an idea of how far up the eyelid to apply the colour. It also makes the finished look more blended and smokey.
2. Always bring your foundation down onto your neck! To prevent the dreaded foundation line appearance just bring the foundation down onto the neck and set with a translucent setting powder to prevent it transferring onto clothing, Often when we apply makeup in-front of our mirrors and we don't see the colour difference, but once outside in daylight or in photographs its pretty noticeable.
3. Using a taupe greyish colour to contour on lighter skin creates a more realistic and believable contoured look!
4. Moisturise no matter what skin type you have before applying makeup, Moisturising the skin allows the makeup to be applied much easier, it also allows the makeup to be blended into the skin nicely. Not moisturising the skin can give makeup a dry cakey appearance a short time after application. Which we all know can be disheartening after all that work.
5. We all have those days where you don't have the energy to apply foundation, concealers, blush etc but for a quick fix applying highlighter on the inner corners of the eyes and mascara can instantly make you look wide awake and ready to go!
